Man, 67, and woman, 65, wounded in Garfield Park shooting, police say

A man and woman in their 60s were rushed to an area hospital Saturday afternoon after they were shot in the city’s Garfield Park neighborhood, according to Chicago police.

The 65-year-old woman and 67-year-old man were standing on the sidewalk in the 2800 block of West Polk Street around 4 p.m. when police said a vehicle pulled up and a gunman fired at both victims.

The woman was shot in the arm and the man in the left leg. Both were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, police said. Authorities offered no known motive for the attack.

No suspects were in custody as police investigated the shooting.
