But the best music fest in Chicago this year was still one that turned out to be a predictor. On April 10 and 11, Meg Memes Fest, produced by the Chicago music lover of the same name, hosted the likes of Tenci, Girl K, Snail Mail, Beach Bunny and Soccer Mommy to name just some highlights. The whole thing happened on Instagram Live. It was fun, earnest, a little messy and had technical glitches. But each artist over the virtual event’s two days got a performance and an interview segment with Memes. It was pure and engaging, that cool tiny house to Lolla’s slick McMansion.
